Hydrostatic Testing Services

Fairtex Group is a leader in pipeline hydrostatic testing and has the experience and capability to perform hydrotests with unique requirements. For example, Fairtex Group can provide heating and circulating equipment to test HRSGs when minimum metal temperatures must be achieved during the hydrotest.

Fairtex Group provides hydrostatic testing services to assess the integrity of your pressure equipment. Before being placed into service, any pressurized equipment is required to undergo a pressure test. Examples of equipment requiring hydrotesting services include:

  • Process Piping

  • Pipelines

  • Boilers

  • Heat Recovery Steam Generators

  • Pressure Vessels

  • Storage Tanks

Each type of equipment is subject to specific codes and inspections before it is placed into service. Fairtex Group will work with you to ensure the hydrostatic pipe testing process is executed safely and in accordance with the correct standards. Complete and accurate documentation will be produced and handed over to the required parties.

Hydrostatic testing is a procedure designed to assess the strength and detect leaks in piping systems, boilers, gas cylinders, and pressure vessels to confirm that they will operate properly, even under extreme conditions. Tests are typically required after repairs and shutdowns to confirm that equipment can successfully return to operation. Testing is conducted at higher pressures than normal operating pressures, typically up to 150 percent of the designed pressure.

Fairtex Group Hydrostatic Testing Process

At Fairtex Group, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all hydrostatic pressure test. We plan, design, and implement testing procedures to ensure the integrity of your unique equipment and piping. We serve industrial companies across a range of industries, such as chemical production and oil & gas businesses, with a complete, proven process designed to save you time and money. We provide detailed plans in which we inspect your equipment, determine the proper testing approach, and then deliver documentation and proof of testing results.

Our team of certified technicians can respond rapidly to your request to provide equipment and perform hydrostatic testing. Safety and quality are paramount during hydrotesting activities. All hydrostatic tests performed by our team include a hydrotest tree with a certified gauge and relief valve to prevent overpressurization of the equipment.

Hydrostatic Testing Capabilities:

  • Hydrostatic pressure up to 800 BARG (11,600 psi)

  • Carried out in accordance with API 6D, API 17D, and ISO 14313

  • Typical Components for Hydrostatic Testing: Valves (including ball, gate, globe, check, choke, butterfly), Seals (metal and elastomer), Connectors (electrical and hydraulic), and Heat Exchangers.
