Fairtex Group provides spooling and fabrication services to the oil and gas industry (FPSO and offshore platforms), marine, petrochemical, power plants, pulp and paper, power generation plants, food and process water, breweries and wine production, paper mills, steel mills, marine vessels, and manufacturing facilities. Our company employs a range of specialized qualified welders with the ability to weld carbon, low alloy steels, Copper-Nickel (CuNi) alloys, austenitic, duplex, and super duplex stainless steels, as well as nickel-based alloys. Welding is carried out to ASME, AWS D1.1, API, NACE MR0175, AS2885, and other Australian standards. Fairtex Group has accumulated a large range of welding procedures to cover most standard and specialized requirements.
In addition to general pipe spooling and fabrication work, our capabilities include specialized TIG welding, plate work, chute work, tanks, pressure vessels, tube bundles, skid assemblies, offshore capital drilling equipment, subsea structures, topsides structures, and ROV tool welding.
The manufacture of pipe spools is Fairtex Group's bread and butter, and the quality of our products has earned us an excellent reputation in the industry today. We manufacture intricate spools and structures in carbon and stainless steel (austenitic, duplex, and super duplex) and non-ferrous metals such as Alloy 625 (Inconel) and Copper Nickel at the WPF Workshop in Cockburn Central. Site fitting and welding of pipe spools are carried out regularly.
Most pipe spooling work is done in accordance with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, and AS 4041, although all other standards and specifications can be accommodated. Pipe spooling work typically involves material and parts procurement, fitting and welding, visual, dimensional, non-destructive testing, hydrostatic testing, and coating. We take utmost care in the protection and packaging of completed pipe spools before shipment to our clients.
Structural and Conductor Casing welding is also carried out at WPF to the appropriate API specifications and standards. Typical welds include casing to casing, casing to connector, casing to float shoes, and casing to wellheads. Induction bending of piping using prequalified procedures can also be done.
WPF boasts a wide range of weld procedures qualified to various standards such as ASME IX, AWS D1.1, API, NACE MR0175, and the equivalent Australian standards. Only qualified welders are used for production welds at WPF.
Commonly used welding processes include manual metal arc (MMAW), gas tungsten arc (GTAW/TIG), metal inert gas (MIG), flux core arc (FCAW), and submerged arc (SAW).
