Gas Turbine Washing Services

The compressor of a gas turbine ingests a large amount of air. This air (even when filtered), contains contaminants which are deposited on the compressor blades and stator blades, which in turn, increases fuel usage, higher EGT and shorter component life. In order to avoid this; Fairtex applies standard operating procedures from the OEM in order to wash the turbine, the wash is pumped into the engine at high pressure through nozzles and also a wash skid is normally provided by Fairtex according to OEM specifications.

Our Gas Turbine Washing Services Covers:

  • Offline washing – the engine is not running is not online

  • Crank soak washing – the engine is cranked over by the starter and gets to soak for a while.

  • Cold wash – the engine is cold.


Gas Turbine Water Washing System


The gas turbine water wash system is designed to clean gas turbine compressor blades by using a high-pressure hot water jet, with a maximum pressure of 150 bar. The unit is free standing and has a three phase 50 Hz or 60 Hz, 480 VAC, 4 kW motor driving a high-pressure water pump. There is also a water tank within the unit with an integrated 6 kW temperature-controlled heating element.
