Fairtex Group partners with Experience OCS Group for Rig Inspections and has contributed to the development and adoption of the Integration Acceptance Test (IAT), also known as SIT (Simulation Integration Testing). We are proud to be the first company in the world to develop this procedure.
The IAT has proven to be highly effective, reducing downtime on newly constructed rigs. It has since been adopted as an industry standard for rig acceptance processes, both for Rig Inspections and newly built rigs, a testament to OCS's expertise and knowledge in Rig Inspections.
Rig Inspections are conducted using the Fairtex Group and OCS Group Acceptance Guidelines Program in Africa. This comprehensive program includes testing of all equipment and systems to verify their condition and performance.
Fairtex Group and OCS have developed an inspection program focused solely on "Operation and Safety-Critical" items. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Intrusive inspections of internal parts of specific equipment, including critical measurements and clearance checks to ensure equipment is operating within recommended tolerances.
Function testing, pressure testing, load testing, and insulation resistance checks for all critical equipment on the drilling unit, as required.
- Verification that proper safety devices are correctly installed, functioning correctly, and calibrated to prevent equipment damage and accidents.
- Verification that rig equipment complies with API standards, equipment manufacturer specifications and recommendations, and good engineering practices.
- Verification that the rig is compliant with contractual requirements as provided by the client.
Rig Inspection Software:
With the extensive experience gained from rig inspections, OCS Group has developed the world's first Rig Inspection software. This software is designed to ensure that "Operational and Safety-Critical" items are inspected with a full record of items inspected. It also enhances inspection consistency and facilitates continual improvement processes with lessons learned over time.
